NO photos of animals, fashion, food, travel, or any option to edit, filter, or upload an image. OKAY FINE does have an instant portrait capture that snaps your feeling once your face (head and shoulders) centers within the frame with minimal background for location context.

NO algorithms, alerts, feeds, news, or searching. OKAY FINE catalogs your emotion by indexing the feeling, marking your waypoint, and logging the moment. We connect those data points with the date, time, and location of the emotional asset.

NO login, email, phone number, or password. OKAY FINE utilizes your unique device identifier paired with multi-factor authentication options so that the archive of your feelings, waypoints, moments, and sparks are always private. Your archive is always private with the option to export and share with medical professionals.

NO following, favoriting, messaging, networking, or socializing. OKAY FINE does allow short, personal messages to validate and recognize someone's experience.

NO advertising within the platform. A help page with contacts for mental health organizations is located on the OKAY FINE page, which also includes recommended reads and listens featuring topical books and podcast episodes.

Data and Privacy

Emotional assets will be shared responsibly to help advance mental health research and education while supporting studies in the sciences underlying public health and social services.

To help advance mental health research and education specific data points will be shared with partners, including: Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), community-based nonprofits, medical research groups, public health universities, and local, state, and federal health departments to advance mental health research and education.

These data points measure emotional patterns and document health trends, including: indexed feelings, marked waypoints, logged moments, combined with dates, times, and location. It will also help map out the communities across the country who need support.

"We don't have real data," says Patrick Kennedy, a former U.S. congressman and founder of the Kennedy Forum, a mental health advocacy group. Across the board, he says, there's a lamentable lack of data when it comes to mental illness. "We don't track this; we have a hodge-podge of reporting that's not standardized." [26]

That lack of data keeps many people in the shadows, Kennedy says. “It makes it hard to hold insurers accountable for any legal obligations [27] they have to pay for mental health care, or to argue for specific policy changes from regulators that oversee them.”

Privacy settings include personal (individual), private (group), or public. OKAY FINE also allows for five contacts and shares when using the personal setting, fifteen to fifty contacts and shares when private with friends and family.

Based on studies on social comparison theory [28] and social cognitive theory [29] including body dysmorphic disorder and mirror-gazing, every emotion is sorted by most recent. If you select to view a single feeling or a single waypoint, those emotions are also sorted by most recent. We do not provide an option to search.

Blocking individuals will instantly restrict that individual from everything on the platform.

A notification is an interruption or a distraction. Studies show that when we are interrupted it takes our brains on average 23 minutes to return our focus to what we were working on before the interruption. [30] People who constantly check their alerts have higher anxiety. Cortisol levels rise and when this is the brain’s typical presentation [...] it may lead to other mental, emotional, and physical concerns. [30] We do not provide an option for alerts.

Muting sparks will instantly hide the spark until it is reviewed by OKAY FINE. If a muted spark has been reviewed as appropriate to be shared with an emotion, it will be released and viewable to the archived emotion where it was originally posted.

If someone continues to block individuals or mute sparks that are not considered to be justified, that individual will be restricted from using the platform for 30 days.
